A&L Shielding’s Lead lined Hollow Metal Welded Door Frames are available with lead thickness from 1/32” to 3/4” as required for shielding the partition as needed. Our welded frames are commonly used for new construction. They are available with most standard hardware preps and are designed to support the lead lined door weights.
Our standard frames are primed 16 gage cold rolled steel, with 2” faces & head, masonry double rabbet profile with anchors and jamb depth as required to meet your wall requirements.
Frames are normally lead lined on the door side of the jamb if the lead in the wall is on the same side of the partition (refer to our Type 1 detail). But if the lead door and the lead in the walls are on opposite sides, then the entire frame needs to be lead lined (refer to our Type 2 detail).
Heads are reinforced for regular & parallel arm closers. Frames are primed painted gray.
